On March 1st, the Pallotti Institute in Rome began a new formation year. On the occasion of the 200th Anniversary of the priestly ordination of St. Vincent Pallotti, a cycle of conferences addresses various aspects of his priesthood. The inaugural lecture under the theme: "Saint Vincent Pallotti - spiritual director of Sisters" was delivered by Sr. Anna Małdrzykowska, SAC, General Councilor and a member of the Pallotti Institute.

Pope Francis celebrates the liturgy in St Peter’s Basilica on Friday with thousands of religious and members of Societies of Apostolic life. The announcement for this event contained the following reflection from the Holy Father: “A vocation is a gift we have received from the Lord, who fixed his gaze on us and called us, calling us to follow him in the consecrated life.”
Origins and Meaning of the World Day of Consecrated Life
This celebration coincides with the liturgical feast of the Presentation of the Lord. In 1997, it was Pope Saint John Paul II who instituted this feast as a universal day of prayer for consecrated men and women. For pastoral purposes, the celebration in local churches is often moved to the following Sunday.
Shortly after the Formation Commission, the next team - members of the International Commission to Our Way of Life met with the General Council to fulfill the task of the last General Chapter. The following are the members: Sr. Iwona Nadziejko - Chair (Poland), Sr. Maria Dörig (Switzerland), Sr. Angelina Kambugu (Rwanda) and Sr. Magdalena Pinto (Procura, Rome).
The International Formation Commission held its meeting in Rome from January 8 -13, 2018. The members are: Sr. Josephina D’Souza (Chairperson), Sr. Jolanta Groszczyk (Poland), Sr. Anna Kot (Cameroon), Sr. Helen Lourdusamy (India) Sr. Agripina Mmassy (Tanzania) and Sr. Catarina Tush (Belize).
