▪ Pallotti Convent in Laurel has hosted a number of visitors: participants in the National UAC meeting in Baltimore, two CSAC sisters from New York, attending a meeting in Washington, as well as the members of Pallotti High School Board of Directors. ▪ Mid-June a reception was held in honor of Mr. Stephen Edmonds, who after 37 years of service has retired from his position as President/Principal of St Vincent Pallotti High School. He had served also as a councillor in his early years. The Provincial Leadership team participated in this event. ▪ While in Laurel, the sisters held their council meeting and met with the local community. Two others came along for a visit - Sr. Mary Michael Ronan and Sr. Josefina Alamilla of Belize, who has been in West Virginia for medical care.
▪ Srs. Gail Borgmeyer, Diane Bushee, and Mary Grace Barile, along with the President/CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center participated in the annual Assembly of the Catholic Hospital Association. The Theme was “The Opportunity Now: How Reform Will Advance the Healing Mission.” The presenters spoke of future changes in healthcare that may require risks, readiness to collaborate and to work with new partners, and looking for opportunities and strengths as while providing better care at lower cost.
