Superior General to the Jubilarians

Only You Lord forever!

Dear Jubilarian Sisters: Sr. Christine, Sr. Rita Lore, Maria Reginata, Clementia, Hildegard, Reinhild, Pacifica, Ambrosa,

It is a joy for me to be with you during this Jubilee celebration, in this beautiful and historical place of our Motherhouse and on beautiful land, about which the Holy Father addressed such warm words to the pilgrims from His homeland a few days ago in Castel Gandolfo. He said that the beauty of the place or of the land is seem to be the hard work of the people, of their culture, faith, joy, singing, music and art. Also, thanks to their "Yes" to God, this beauty achieves fullness.

Dear Sisters, these words fit so much to you today. Through you and in you we see the fullness and beauty of God's work in this world, country and in this Congregation. Your faithful walking with Him has left  enduring marks, as seen on the trodden steps on which today one can see the times of the past, the effort of the work and mystery of life of each sister. Your sincere and loving "Yes" to the Lord, every day anew, through 50 and 70 years- in different fields of service: education, health, social work, community, mission, administration, like in the mosaic- has built up the Church and the Congregation. Although you worked often on infertile land, you cultivated it with love and shaped it on the model of God Creator, which later brought good fruit. You took religious life and God's call seriously. So, in this moment, in the name of the entire Congregation I want to say: “thank you, Lord, and Vergelt’s Gott" Sisters, for your "Yes" to God, which brought you to the greater beauty and maturity.

Today, many are impressed by your fidelity, simplicity, joy, hope and still readiness to serve,  as good stewards who never rest, because they are still occupied in the Lord's vineyard. God loves cheerful giver. He is able to make every grace abundant for you /2Cor 9:7/. Many great things happened during all these years, however, only God knows the secrets of your hearts, your works, your labor and your endurance; your successes, love and suffering for His name /cf. Rev 2/. Therefore, I wish for each of you that God will abundantly reward you for every seed planted, every good made, every brick laid, and may you hear the words of the Lord in  your heart:  'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful, enter the joy of your master' Come and share your master's happiness!' /Mt 25:21/.

Dear Sisters, today we come with joy to  share your happiness, thanksgiving, and fruits of life. Together with St. Vincent Pallotti we ask God’s blessing upon you, and wish that the example of life of Redemptoris Mater will reveal her Son, and teach you to love Him  more and more. May she be your Mother, Guide, Sister, and Friend during these days which God from His Merciful love will grant to you. May these be good and peaceful days full of trust in the Lord, joy, love of the sisters and gratitude of many, whom you served. May God be your only great desire, your true delight and the one for your heart thirsts.  Only You Lord forever! Our gift for you today is our gratitude and our prayers, which will never stop.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
