• In preparation for the Feast of the Epiphany, a Triduum was held in Limburg on “Setting out together to search for Christ, like the wise men”. Participants listened to Fr. Sascha Jung, who spoke in the Church of St. Ann. Next evening, the event took place at the Pallottine Parish Church, St. Mary’s, where P. Norbert Possmann, SAC pointed out that the wise men came to adore the child in the manger. Following their example, we too, were challenged to give adequate time to the encounter with God. At the last day of the Triduum, Sr. Adelheid Scheloske SAC gave a presentation in the chapel of our provincial house, Kloster Marienborn.

• In the chapel of the St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Bensberg, each year several presentations of musical events are offered during the time of the Advent and the Christmas Season. Beginning on the first Sunday of Advent and lasting until January 9th, choirs from the region came, among them one of the New-apostolic Community from Cologne. Either they beautified the Eucharistic celebration or they made a charity performance. The result was dedicated to the hospice work and for the missions of the Pallottine Sisters in Brazil. The patients who were able to take part through the TV of the hospital also enjoyed the performances.

• The small shop “KlosterWeltLaden” run at St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital attracted many visitors during the Christmas Season. There were cribs from Germany, Peru and other countries on sale. Mrs. Franz and Anni Schubert, the brother and sister-in-law of Sr. Nicola and Christina had made beautiful arrangements for Advent. The Christmas flea market was organized by Sr. Maria Reginata. All the efforts were earmarked to help the missions. In gratitude Sr. Ingrid Schuler invited the volunteers of the shop for a get together with some of the sisters. While they enjoyed coffee and cake, they exchanged experiences and gathered new ideas and suggestions.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
