About 150 guests came to the provincial house in Limburg on Thursday evening, Nov 25th. A team of neighbors together with Sr. Helga Weidemann had invited to Kloster Marienborn for this 5th autumn meeting, shortly before the Advent Season. Children from 4 to 12 years, all piano pupils, accompanied by their teacher, pleased the audience, the four year old Simon as well as all the other young talents. A member of a theatre group of the close district of Staffel gave an amusing contribution. Sr. Helga assured all neighbours and friends that they are remembered by the sisters in their daily prayers. At the end all joined in the familiar Advent tune: “Lift up your heads, o gates, be lifted up, o ancient doors. With words of blessing Sr. Helga concluded this fraternal meeting.

It is a cherished tradition in the Vinzenz Pallotti Hospital in Bensberg to invite the former, now retired collaborators to a meeting before Advent. On Nov. 25th about 80 persons followed the invitation of the hospital management and the sisters. In a bright get together and with coffee and cakes memories were exchanged and new contacts made. Sr. Dominica Rose greeted the guests and offered a spiritual impulse. In a power point presentation changes and future plans for the hospital were presented by Mr Bernd Reimann from the hospital administration team. The meeting was successful and its participants are looking forward to the next one.

This year again the Pallottine Sisters` community in Munich made the impossible a reality and organized the big Advent bazar in the Parish St. Bonifaz, together with other helpers, and assisted by Sr. Ingrid Schuler SAC, Missionprocurator. This bazar had been prepared in countless hours during the whole year. The proceeds are destined for the mission in Brazil.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
